Strawberry Mania : Exotic Strawberry Coulis / Sauce
Homemade Strawberry coulis / sauce is just out of the world in taste….. much better than the store bought.
It is not very sugary and has the actual taste of strawberries.
It is sourly sweet.
We use strawberries puree for making this. You can either have it coarse or smooth as per your preference.
In my family, we all prefer it being mushy as in that case you get to have tiny pulpy pieces of strawberries as well.
It can be used in so many ways. Drizzle it on ice creams or puddings or custards.
Vanilla ice cream served with strawberry coulis oozes dollops of deliciousness.
You can use it as a topping on cheese cake,
Or as a filling in Black Forest Cake.
You can spread it on bread slice or chapati like jam.
You can make Swiss roll with it.
Or if you are like me then simply you can keep licking it.
Yes, it gets ready in hardly 10-12 minutes.
Requires only 3 ingredients, one of course being the strawberries.Preparation time : 2-3 minutes
Yields : 250 gms.
8-10 Tsp Sugar
2 Tsp Corn Flour
1/2 Cup Water
1 Tsp lemon juice.
1. Clean and wash the hulled strawberries.
Store in a glass bottle in refrigerator.
1.Hulled Strawberries mean that the green leafy top is being removed.
2.Quantity of sugar may vary depending on the sweetness of strawberries.
3. Don’t make it very thick as it thickens on cooling also.
4. You can puree it smooth in blender too.
5. Lemon juice is added to give shiny texture to the coulis.
Add sugar in strawberry Puree. Cook till sugar dissolves. Mix in little cornflour dissolved in water. Cook for another 2-3 minutes. Lastly add lemon juice. Use as desired.
